About Daniel Turner
Daniel Turner is a lifelong Niagara resident and an economist who is passionate about building a stronger, more vibrant community for everyone who calls this area home.
He earned a BA in Economics from Brock University and an MA in Business Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Daniel is a Trustee on the Fort Erie Public Library Board and member of the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce's Next Niagara Council.
Daniel believes in practical, responsible government that listens to residents, spends taxpayer dollars wisely, and makes decisions openly and honestly. With deep roots in Niagara and a genuine commitment to his neighbours.
Daniel is running to bring Efficiency, Accountability, and Transparency to municipal government — so that Ward 4 and Fort Erie can continue to grow in a way that benefits everyone.
Fort Erie Deserves Its Fair Share
In 2025, the Province invested nearly $250 million to open a new full-service hospital in Grimsby, complete with 55 beds, a 24/7 Emergency Department, and maternity services. (West Lincoln Memorial Hospital)
Grimsby’s population is about 32,000.
Fort Erie’s is larger — around 37,000 and still growing.
Yet Fort Erie is scheduled to lose its Urgent Care Centre at Douglas Memorial in 2028.
This is not fair!
Fort Erie faces pressures other communities do not:
We sit on a major international border crossing
We experience high daily and seasonal traffic
Tourism creates significant temporary population increases
Many residents face longer travel times to the new hospital in Niagara Falls
The Province has shown it will invest in local hospital capacity when it chooses to. Fort Erie deserves the same consideration — not only because of our population, but because of our unique role as a growing border community.
I will fight to keep 24/7 urgent care in Fort Erie and push for the local health care capacity our community needs.
